Water-Related Skin Tips

Simple yet relatively helpful tips below were shared to me by my cousin who is a trusted dermatologist:
1. It is best to drink water the moment you wake up. It would replenish the moisture and liquids lost during sleep. The skin being the largest body organ in the body benefits from this good morning practice. No wonder I always feel good after drinking a glass or two upon waking up!
2. If one experiences dry skin, try to put a glass of water at the bedside table. Added moisture will help ease the dryness of the skin while sleeping. I have yet to try this one and I hope it works!

Avon Experience: Anew

I've always been in search for a great moisturizing cream.. I just finished my Elizabeth Arden's moisturizer. Good thing my sister who is working with Avon gave me a jar of Anew Clinical Therma Firm Face Lifting cream for me to try on. They say this is Avon's at-home answer to the latest thermal face life procedure. It surprisingly feels light on the face. I normally apply it at night and though it feels a little oily on my face in the morning, it could be easily washed off with water after waking up.

Anew Clinical ThermaFirm consist of an innovative "TriSonic Technology" that is formulated to help tighten the connection between skin layers. You will instantly feel good in less than a week of trying the product. Skin feels tighter after a few days of using the product.

I never thought a great beauty product is just around the corner!

Moisturizer Search

It was only about 3 years ago that I started religiously applying moisturizer on my face. Thanks to my sister in law who previously worked in the beauty industry as well as my vain officemate who let me realized the importance of moisturizing one’s face. I used to have a hard time looking for the right moisturizer but when I was given a bottle of Elizabeth Arden’s moisturizer as a gift, I did not hesitate using it immediately. The bottle claims that it is a “perpetual moisturizer”. Hydration is guaranteed for 24 hours. One will experience continuous comfort with the advanced Filagrinol Complex and Aquaxyl.
The moisturizer was too good to be true! Unlike any other moisturizers, it feels light on the face when applied, it has a pleasant smell and helps skin maintain its own ideal moisture level. It seems that moisture was bound within the skin’s surface layers. It can be used alone or under make-up. Elizabeth Arden’s super light lotion delivers instant and lasting shine control and oil free hydration. I have an oily skin but I never experienced too much oiliness in my face whenever I apply Elizabeth Arden’s Perpetual Moisture Lotion. It can be used both in the morning and at night that I wish my bottle supply can still last me for a few more months!

Have you heard of Thanakha Creams?

I'm guessing only a few have heard of Thanakha Creams. It would be good to make it known to others the benefits and inherent properties of Thanakha creams. Thanakha is a tree common in Burma. Ever wondered why Burmese women's skin are so smooth? That's because one of their beauty regimen consists of applying Thanakha Creams made solely from the bark roots of Thanakha Tree. Scientific name for the tree is Limonia Acidissima. Though the name sounds on the contrary, it has no chemical or synthetic mxtures that might possibly harm your skin. Thanakha Cream is 100% organic since the barks and roots are grounded and mixed with essential floral and herbal oils and a few drops of water.

Thanakha Creams are claimed to cause smoothening of one's skin, immediately controlling pimples and other roughness of the skin. It does not apply only to the face but to the entire body as well. It can also be used as a facial mask or a foundation that will result in a flawless skin texture.

For application, one needs to wash her face thoroughly with face and water. A pinch of Thanakha cream and diluting it with a few drops of water makes it ready to be applied to the face. If you prefer to have a facial mask, apply thickly like a mud pack whilst if one prefers to use it as a foundation, it needs to be applied thinly and can serve as a make up base.

There are a lot of Thanakha Cream types. Only Sandalwood, Rose, Shihm, Spa, Shiles, Jasmine and Kankaw can be used as both day and night creams whilst Lime and Nat can only be used as night creams. Since it is organic and merely an herbal cream, it does not cause overdosing and can be used 24 hours a day.

Reward Treat!

I am proud to say that I've spent part of my bonus money! =) Sale season is up and when I checked out items in Zara, I saw classic dresses and pants that I cannot resist! I haven't shopped like crazy in a year. I am always for the best deals and thinks twice before buying something since I have a household to run and 2 kids to feed and take care of. Upon seeing how the dresses and pants fit perfectly. I did not think twice and honestly did not feel guilty on my purchase.

I was with a friend while shopping at Zara and she too were able to take some great buys! She was very happy but a little guilty of her purchase given the amount she has spent but I was telling her that she shouldn't be. The money came from our own hard work. It wasn't stolen or given instantly out of a whim. And we ladies deserve to treat ourselves once in a while.

Buying something tangible out of a certain amount of money given as a reward was a practice taught by my late grandfather. I remember receiving a huge amount of money then when I was a kid as a godparent's treat for making it in the honor's class. Lolo (grandpa) said that it would be nice to buy something that you really like and make it as a remembrance for the money gift given to you. I can still enumerate stuff I've bought then when given "reward monies" . These would range from simple stuff to complicated ones. My Zara dresses and pants are the recent ones in my list.

Bye warts, by impulse

My last derma trip was about last year prior to returning to work after my maternity leave. This afternoon was my recent trip. I just had my warts removed for the first time this afternoon. I did not go to my regular derma as this was just a spur of the moment decision. I passed by a derma clinic below our building after my foot spa trip to the salon. There were a lot of patients waiting in his clinic which I took as a good sign. I waited for my turn and filled up necessary forms.

I was asked to lie down, an antibiotic cream was applied to my face and Mr Derma let it stayed for about an hour. I think i dozed off and woke up when I felt some buzz sensation on my face.. off he went zapping/cauterizing (as they term it) my warts away. There are a few black spots left in my face reminiscent of the procedure but I felt relieved and happy afterwards.

It was an impulsive decision from my end to have my warts removed today but had no regrets in doing so. =)
